"SIMON SAYS"............."what do you say"?

Written by

Hi Everyone,

I hope you are keeping well and staying cool in this heat. I am.

I wanted to introduce you to my new style Blog.............

"SIMON SAYS"............."what do you say"?

It's a culmination of what's new and exciting in the travel industry, along with Q & A's from you, my valued clients, and some personal tips, hints and tidbits from me

I encourage you to send me your questions

Here are a few Q & A's you've asked me recently:

Q: How has the pandemic affected you and your business?

A: Personally, it's taken me by surprise. I never expected it to affect all of us on this magnitude. What we worked so hard on last year with you all, has been put on hold until further notice. I have embraced it. I've taken it one booking at a time, and went to bat for you all, to obtain the very best result, for YOU. I'm a realist. More so, now.

Q: How do you foresee the future of travel?

A: I see it forever changed. We will now all travel quite differently. I think we will be more aware of our surroundings and our hygiene. I see us all itching to travel now, and anxious to get a vaccine to help put our minds at rest and get our bags packed, mine are at my front door!

Q: Where can I travel too right now?

A: Most people are staying local. I've sent clients on lovely weekends to Palm Springs, San Diego, the CA Coast and Arizona. There are many magnificent resorts in our preferred hotel program, giving you great rates, and extra complimentary exclusive amenities. I just returned from Arizona myself and am soon off to Santa Barbara. (more on that next time) In addition. I've sent clients to the Caribbean and Mexico, with Covid restrictions/guidelines! For me personally, I have to get creative to keep travelling. It's in my blood!

Q: What are you doing to keep occupied and busy

A: I walk a lot and listen to my music and sing out loud and probably annoy my neighbors! I think I have a lovely voice!!!! I play a lot of tennis. I'm also heavily involved with a local non profit charity in RSM, RSM Cares. One of the main things we do, which has sadly become a lot more popular during the pandemic, is a Food Bank, whereby we serve the community for those in need, twice a month. I find it extremely rewarding, so much, I'm on the board!

I miss you all

Can't wait to hear from you with your questions. Please send them to:

If your question is posted on my blog, you will receive a $25 coupon off your next vacation

Lawrence has been cheerfully organizing our vacations for about 20 years.  He is always efficient, knowledgeable, reliable and offers great travel advice.  Our recent trip had many flight, itinerary and port changes and then was cancelled.  Through it all Lawrence was very encouraging and extremely helpful.  We appreciate how he took care of details and continued to communicate with the vacation company until we got everything refunded.  I would highly recommend Lawrence and Mariners Mission Bell Travel Service to my family and friends!

Mariners Travel is here for YOU

Written by

Hi there everyone,

I miss you! I hope you are staying safe & healthy. I am and happy to report, we are still here!!!!
Travel & tourism account for 1 in 10 jobs worldwide.
I am a part of that 1 out of 10.
Many people think that my job working in the travel business is to travel for free (I wish!).

In reality, 90% of my job is spent designing itineraries for couples, families, and clients from around the world. I spend hours, weeks, sometimes even months working on trips, making sure every detail is planned to perfection. And truly I LOVE doing this!!

The travel industry has been dealing with the coronavirus since January — two full months before it really began impacting daily life in the US.
Unknown fact: Travel agents only get paid after their clients actually travel. Many agents have lost their pay for up to a year's (or more) worth of work. Could you give up a year's worth of your salary? They’ve spent these last few months working tirelessly to negotiate refunds, postponements, and cancellations. And most haven’t had new trips booked now for months.

But we do it without question because we have wonderful, personal relationships with our clients - something that credit card rewards companies, Costco, and online agencies like Expedia & Travelocity do not - and we know travel will come back stronger than ever once this is all over.

**So when you decide to travel again - PLEASE use a travel advisor. Your business matters so much to us. Do not click a “book” button on a website ever again. Not only are you helping us but we can provide an even better experience for you - and help you with any problems along the way**

Keep us in mind for your local travel needs. We have MANY negotiated deals at various hotels and resorts. Travel for 2021 and 2022 is open and is proving popular.

I am sure like you, we are all "itching" to take a vacation.

On a more personal note, I appreciate your generous donations, volunteer support and food donations for RSM Cares, and our bi-weekly food pantry. We are still feeding over 1100 people! I am enjoying doing my part to pay it forward.

Cheers to you all

A Thank You, Update, and Request

Written by

Hello there everyone,

Long time, no speak! hope you are all well given the currency environment and situation we face. Who'd have thought we would be here right now? Not me, for sure.

Business was thriving. Mr Europe was busier than ever. You were travelling, planning to travel, very excited to, and life seemed blessed. Then comes along Covid-19 and life as we knew it, changed forever.

A lot of you have been very kind and gracious to check up on me, my agency that I built up, and just very compassionate and caring. My heart is full, many thanks for your continued support.

I decided, unlike some of my fellow agency owners/friends, NOT to charge you, my valued long standing clients, ANY fees. My part of giving back to you, for something, that's completely out of your control and mine. I am busy daily re-arranging your travel, cancelling your travel and am here, steadfast, ready to help as soon as it's safe again for all of us to travel. I know I for one an "itching" to not just get our of my house, but AWAY, on a real vacation............all in good time.

More importantly is our health and well being. That's why I've aligned myself with a local Food Bank, RSM Cares. I'm doing my part to help them, to help others, in need. If you can help out, by volunteering time, money, toiletries for our seniors, and more, please reach out to me for further information, it's greatly appreciated.

rsmcares

Meantime and most importantly, stay safe, stay healthy and adhere! Life is certainly precious.

We will all come out of this much more humble. I'm already there! Good always comes out of bad (my personal motto) and I'm sticking to it.

Again, thank you for caring about me and my valued staff and the valued business, you've allowed me to build. 2021 and beyond is available for booking, so why wait? Get something on the the books to look forward to. Perhaps you'l come along and join me on one of my personally, fully escorted adventures? Whatever, whenever, I am here for YOU.

Cheers and aloha

Mr. Europe's not so Europe - Aloha!

Written by

hello everyone from Mr. Europe's neighborhood

Hope you're all well. I am. I'm very busy helping and planning a lot of vacations for you all right now. Mostly Europe, of course, but my full service Travel Agency does it all, as you say here in America, from "soup to nuts", whatever that really means, lol. Kind sof like, Alphabet soup I guess! I like that analogy. Going with it!

While I sepcialize in European creativity for your vacation needs, wants and desires you didn't know existed within the maginifcent of Europe, what you don't know about me, is my mad love for Hawaii. Why you ask? Well, first of all, who doesn't love Hawaii? It is a varied tropical paradise. When I first arrived, fresh off the boat (really it was a plane!) I was fortunate enough to "land" a job for a Hawaiian Travel Company. Part of my job, was inspecting hotels, resorts, condo's (I know, I know, a tough life but someone had to do it and they picked right, ME ME ME) and I fell in love.

Being from England, I thought, Hawaii, being sooooooooo far away, was far out of my reach, but alas, my dream, really did come true. I remember arriving, the beautiful aroma in the air, I kissed the ground and welled up. I fell in love. I love the people, the aloha spirit, the ambience, and of course, the food. It's "home" to me and fo course, it's the good 'ole USA, boy, are we blessed or what?!

I travel there annually, still to this day. I like to take a refresher in updating myself on the properties we sell the most, so when you ask, and you do ask, I can say with confidence, "yes, I have been there" and tell you which Island is best for you, which resort also. I love telling people, where to go!!!! In fact, I'm off again this week for another Hawaiian refresher. I will post some pictures later on, so as they say, "watch this space".

I'm attaching a picture of me, in my #1 favorite place to visit in Europe, the South of France, sending you cheers and aloha

Mr. Europe has arrived!

Welcome to Mr. Europe's neighborhood (spelled US way, not my way!)

Who is Mr. Europe? (Me, Lawrence)

I am the Brit with the Wit! (so I'm told). I am a working Travel Agency Owner, who loves to travel, and share my knowledge with all of you. I am from England originally. Home of the world's best soccer team (we say football!), Manchester United. (I have a very unique story to tell you later about this) I have been in the travel business for over 39 years (but there's no way you can tell this by looking at me!)

I wanted to share with you, some of my personal travel experiences and tips, and some client stories as well. As you get to know me, you'll know I always have a lot say! (I'm no ham)

I'm Mr. Europe to my clients. I'm considered a European travel expert. I love to plan & customize, your intricate or simple European itinerary (if simple is a word when it comes to planning a European vacation) and add experiences to your vacation you never knew possible.

I have a mad obsession with Europe. I travel there at least 2-3 times a year and escort groups, by land, ocean or River. Clients love me and ask me where we're going to next (not sure why).

Oh, by the way, we are a full service travel agency and welcome the opportunity to help you with your travel plans big or small, no matter where they may take you.  There are few of us left, but as they say, the strong will survive and I'm a survivor. (feel like going into song now)

People tell me frequently I look like the Rock and sound like Robin Leach (I say, I wish I looked like the Rock and had Robin's money!)

Champagne wishes and Caviar Travel baby!

Cheers and aloha (I love Hawaii)
