A family vacation to Walt Disney World can be an endurance test or a fantastic experience with bonding and fun.
With some pre-planning, our trip was a seamless adventure. Five nights at the Animal Kingdom Lodge with views of the roaming giraffes and zebras from our rooms' balconies proved a great highlight.
In advance of the trip, we made dining reservations and fast passes for each park. That was truly a time saver. Our goal was one park each day and we held to that quite well. There was an odd afternoon when we doubled back to the Magic Kingdom - just so much to do!
Because our dates included complimentary meal plans for everyone, we took advantage of that and used every credit in the program. Even if it had not been free, I would still have purchased the plan and will next time. Each of us received one Table Service meal, one Quick Service meal, and one snack per night of our visit. The convenience factor was huge.
Another new aspect to Disney that is available only at Walt Disney World is the Magic Bands. Again, it was the convenience that made them a hit with the whole family. They are protected with a pin number for purchases and give you access to the parks, dining, everything.
For us, the whole trip was fantastic and a very different experience than our hometown Disneyland.
